ART
We have a specialist art teacher and a designated art studio, and all girls from Year 1 upwards enjoy a weekly art lesson. Our Art curriculum focuses on developing core skills and techniques, whilst nurturing pupils’ imagination and creativity.
MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES
French is taught weekly to all girls from Reception upwards by our specialist French teacher. We also celebrate the diverse linguistic nature of our community through language days and special events.
In June 2023, we celebrated ‘German Day’ were the girls dressed up and enjoyed learning about Germany and some German language. Our younger children made gingerbread, while the older girls researched a German town and presented their findings to the school.
MUSIC
Music teaching plays a major part in the life of our school. We have a designated music room and a specialist teacher. Singing is at the heart of our music curriculum and we have several school choirs. All classes take part in musical and drama performances, using our new drama studio. Peripatetic music teachers provide individual lessons and we have a range of different instrumental groups.
All children have the opportunity to show off their performing and musical prowess.
There are many music events over the course of the year, including an Inter-House Singing Competition, Soloist Concerts and our very special Christmas Carol Service.

PERFORMING ARTS
In the Michaelmas Term we see our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 girls perform in a nativity play. These are heart warming events loved by the whole Ursuline Community.

Reception's Nativity Performance
Throughout the course of the school year, all children get to perform in a presentation to the school and parents . For Reception, this can involve a performance on Mothers or Fathers Day. The older girls all perform in a topical dramatic assembly to the school and parents are invited to join.

Year 3 Aztec's Assembly

Year 5 Egyptian Assembly
The Trinity term sees a theatrical and musical extravaganza by Years 5 and 6. The Year 6 take the lead roles, supported by a Year 5 choir.
This provides a joyful and entertaining finale for the end of the school year.

SPORTS
Our approach to sport is inclusive and so all girls learn and play in team sports, representing their school whilst competing against others and having fun. Onsite we have a large AstoTurf and our minibuses allow us easily access to local facilities.
In Early Years the focus is on developing motor skills. In Pre-Prep, small team games are introduced and the girls have weekly swimming lessons. In Prep, each year group has a Games afternoon and are taught netball, hockey, football, cricket and athletics.
Our fixture programme includes local schools, Surrey schools and we have a wide variety of Inter- House competitions, with an emphasis on participation and fun.
